Welcome! My name is Rick Pearson, and I live in Lampasas, Texas. I have been doing wildlife, science fiction, and visionary art under the company name of Leviathan Productions for over 30 years. In 2015, I changed the name of my company to Ocean Spirit, to better define how I feel about my work. The purpose of my work has always been to celebrate the beauty of nature, and the wonders of the Universe, and thereby to teach others about our fragile planet and hopefully to create the desire to learn more about it, and to protect it. Many of the images that you see here were derived from over 50 years of meticulous research into the anatomy and behavior of marine mammals; especially the sperm whale. I have often donated the use of my work to numerous environmental and wildlife conservation organizations, such as Greenpeace, Sea Shepherd and Cetacean Society International. In February of 2020, I became a member of the Ocean Artists Society, a worldwide organization of artists, underwater photographers, and filmmakers who have joined together to use their talents to raise awareness of the issues that face the oceans of the world, and therefor all life on Earth; because if the oceans die, we all die.
